Alex Streeter Gem Show Visit 2015

Back from a most memorable visit with Alex and Lily in Tucson, where lost artifacts were excavated from a secret chamber beneath the museum and fire danced through the night air.

Having a feeling that 2015 will be a year of surprises and especially Good Magic.

1947 Russian Meteorite

In 1947, the largest observed meteorite fell through the sky and crashed into the Sikhote-Alin Moutains in Siberia- then part of Soviet Russia. Fragments of this iron meteorite now reside in collections around world, including the Alex Streeter Museum in Tucson and the NY meteorite exhibit, which is currently on tour in Los Angeles.

It has been theorized that it was the impact of a massive asteroid that marked the end of an era of reptiles that ruled the terrestrial world for 135 millions years.
